Putting Partisan Politics Before Nat'l Security

Bush's pig-faced presidential adviser and top political aide, Karl Rove, has been implicated in the treasonous act of disclosing a covert CIA agent's identity. Why would he put our national security at risk, endanger the lives of CIA agents, and put at risk the search for WMD? As political payback, of course. The agent's husband, Joseph Wilson, had written an article critical of the WMD claims leading up to the war in Iraq (his claims regarding false WMD reports, by the way, turned out to be completely on target). This is just beyond sleazy, even for the despicable KKKarl Rove.

Thankfully, Bush (who has sat on the knowledge that his closest adviser was involved in the leak for two years) has asserted that anyone in his administration involved in this leak would be fired.

Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid of Nevada said, "I agree with the President when he said he expects the people who work for him to adhere to the highest standards of conduct. The White House promised if anyone was involved in the Valerie Plame affair, they would no longer be in this administration. I trust they will follow through on this pledge. If these allegations are true this rises above politics and is about our national security."

A pledge to finally put national security before politics? I'm not holding my breath.
